Designed by renowned Architect R A Lawson this building was constructed in 1889 for Reid, Maclean & Co as a grain store. A feature of its construction was the use concrete foundations reinforced with iron rails. It is said to be the first use of this system in Dunedin. The building covers 6000m2 over 3 floors.
